Viewers of the BBC's restoration programme will relish the chance to see the redeveloped Llanelly House which has a prominent position opposite the Parish Church. The town benefits from being very close to the scenic Pembrey Country Park which boasts an eight mile long beach named Cefn Sidan. The former mining town was once known as Tinopolis such was its stature within the tinplate industry. Today it is probably best known as being the home of Llanelli Scarlets, the famous Rugby team.
