That's who I was thinking of with my whistling beaver from above! I just couldn't remmeber where it was from! This voice was created by Stan Freberg, who has an extensive background in commercial and comedy recording voice overs and soundtracks. On the DVD he demonstrates how it was done and that a whistle was eventually used because it was hard to continue repeating the effect.

The Beaver in this film seemed to be the inspiration for Gopher in Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree , down to the speech pattern a whistling sound when he makes the "S" sound. Chat Topic: cartoon character? The Jungle Book Bagheera said he doesn't like honey like Tigger does.
Also Bagheera pouncing on Mowgli is an homage to Tigger bouncing on his friends and Mowgli trying to get honey from the hive is the same thing Pooh Bear did.

At 3 minutes and 5 seconds into the movie when Ralph and Vanellope are lying on the field in the football game, the game to the right, Food Fight, has characters from Winnie the Pooh as the top scorers: 1. POH - Pooh 2. PGT - Piglet 3. EYR - Eeyore 4. RBT - Rabbit 5. WOL - Owl 6. KNG - Kanga 7. ROO - Roo. He recorded the lines, and it stuck!
Composer Buddy Baker designed the score so that different instruments represent each of the major characters: bass clarinet for Eeyore, flute for Kanga, piccolo for Roo, clarinet for Rabbit, oboe for Piglet, ocarina and french horn for Owl, and baritone horn for Pooh. Rather than doing a feature film, Walt felt that introducing the characters through a series of featurettes would make American audiences fall in the love, and he was right! And yet, it was something he had personally been very much involved with.
In the episode " Fish Out of Water ", Gopher is forced to move in with Rabbit temporarily after a fish migration takes over his tunnels. In the episode " Lights Out ", Rabbit secretly borrows Gopher's helmet. Gopher becomes scared of the dark, and whenever someone says 'Dark', he freaks out, but he soon conquers his fear and helps Piglet find the others in the tunnel. One of Gopher's most notable episodes was " Pooh Skies ", in which Pooh has "broken" the sky.
Pooh and the others move in with Gopher to protect themselves from the fallen sky. Gopher, unhappy with the idea, helps Pooh to go up to the sky and successfully "fix" it. The episode " To Dream the Impossible Scheme " introduced Gopher's Grandpappy, who, unlike Gopher, prefers to dream about things rather than do them. So, Gopher switched places with Owl after Owl switches places with Pooh. Although, when he tries to fly, he ended up falling down.
He does so reluctantly, as he apparently hibernates during the winter and so Tigger has to wake him up using a loud alarm clock. Gopher, with a similar design to his portrayal in the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh , makes a cameo appearance in the episode " Terminal Pete ". He plays a prominent role as a destructive pest that Pete 's daughter, Pistol adopts as a pet. In this appearance, Gopher does not speak and only makes animal noises as an actual gopher does.
The cameo appearance was subtly acknowledged by the writers as the character is referred to as "Gopher" throughout the episode. He briefly cameos again in the episode " Bringin' on the Rain ".
Gopher is first seen peeking out of his home-hole to see Pooh sing his Thanksgiving song. He later is seen bringing a barrel of lemonade for Thanksgiving dinner along with Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Owl. Gopher is also seen later on following Rabbit's "proper" plans for Thanksgiving dinner.
